CBL/SCAF, Nobel Peace Laureate International Campaign
to Ban Landmines (ICBL) and Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of
the destruction of the Belarus stockpiles of TNT
landmines through the project implemented by NAMSA organized the Third Ottawa Convention Implementation
Workshop in Minsk, Belarus on May 22-24, 2006. The
workshop took place in the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Conference-hall, Minsk, Lenin St. 19. The

The aim of this workshop was to bring together Belarus
officials and experts in charge of arms control and
regional security issues, media and civil society
representatives along with the representatives of the
international civil society and governments of the
treaty signatories and state parties to reflect on the
importance of the Mine Ban Convention for the
international security, the fulfillment of obligations
of Belarus as a state party to the convention and to
explore possibilities of cooperation in arms control
and security issues in the region.
